Known for their unique cocktails and adorable glassware, Organic Vodka by Weiss Distilling Co has become a popular spot in downtown Clawson. This spring, the cocktail lounge embraces a Miami vibe in a theme takeover called Miami Weiss (the best wordplay ever). Walking through the faux elevator door entrance, guests will see a clean, neon pink and blue sign that reads “Miami Weiss”. Bright lights piped throughout the space and flamingos adorn the walls and tables.

Unflavored vodka remains the top selling spirit in the United States, but the industry is seeing an increase in differentiation and premiumization. While the trend towards high-end spirits is not new, it is becoming more prominent as craft distillers focus on making quality products that stand out from the crowd.
Many vodka producers use a variety of ingredients to make their product stand out from the competition. Some of the most notable are rye, wheat, potatoes, molasses and even beets. Weiss uses organic white wheat in their 81-proof vodka, which produces a smooth sipper with a little natural sweetness up front and finishes so clean you can’t taste it – exactly how a vodka should drink.
Located in downtown Clawson, Weiss Distilling Company uses locally sourced ingredients in their full line of additive-free spirits. They currently make vodka and rum and plan to add absinthe soon. Their tasting room features a lounge with an assortment of cocktail tables and Riedel glassware. A large, cocktail menu is broken up into vodka, gin and rum selections.
